In this age of television and computers a kids library membership is the best gift you can give children to help them introduce, venture and explore the ever expanding range of our book collection. Reading is a basic survival skill in today's information society. But learning to read doesn't happen in the classroom alone. In fact, the best readers are introduced to books and reading long before they enter school. KIDS KOUCH brings a unique reading experience to kids and parents alike.
Children Library:
Kids Kouch children library section, launched in June 2009, boosts of 3000 books that will satisfy the reading appetite for kids of 0 through 14 years of age. The library plans to add atleast 100 new books every month. Based on suggestions from experts the library has built a balanced catalog that will help every member find the right kind of books, of his age and interest. The books are cataloged and arranged categorically by our unique easy to use coding system which makes it convenient for anyone to locate books.
Knowledge Series
Our huge non-fiction collection of encyclopedias, dictionaries, knowledge books in specific topics and the complete set of Time Life Educational series will ensure that no question of your child remains unanswered.
BOARD BOOKS
Board books are perfect for introducing babies and young toddlers to books. These sturdy books with beautiful illustrations and large prints will nurture a love of reading. We guarantee that your young one has something new to choose every time he is here.
PICTURE BOOKS
A successful picture book is one in which pictures and text work together to tell a story. Our collection contains nearly 2,000 titles. These books help to stretch a child's mind and imagination. Old favorites like Berenstain Bears and new favorites like the Goosebumps series tempt children of all ages to pick up a book and read.
BEGINNING READERS
We have a large collection of Level Reader Books which are marked as per the child’s ability of reading. Beginning readers use controlled vocabulary, fewer words per page, repeated words and large print just what children need to learn to read. Children will start with Pre-Level 1 and will gradually migrate to higher levels.
STORY BOOKS
Our young patrons will never fail to a find a new story book at our library. We have all the popular series like Winnie the Pooh, Disney, Barbie, Dr. Seuss etc in addition to the classical fairy tales collection. For older kids we are fully stocked with excellent series from Enid Blyton, Nancy Drew, Judy Blum to name a few.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES
To cater the growing demand and need for learning foreign languages and the lack of these books locally, Kids Kouch has a section for Foreign Language books. The collection is quite limited but we intend to expand it very fast. Few books are available in bilingual format, or in languages other than English. We intend to focus on French and Spanish predominantly. Bilingual board books and picture books are available for our youngest patrons. Instructional materials for learning a foreign language for young adults and adults will be introduced shortly.
THE REFERENCE COLLECTION
The reference collection is a collection of books, on a wide range of subjects, that are for in-library use only. The Times Life Educational Series-Child’s First Library set along with the ‘Walter’, which reads the books for young kids can be borrowed and used within the library.
TOYS
Kids Kouch toy library has a large collection of educational toys and games, including puzzles, board games and learning games. Kids who are members of this section are free to spend as much time as they like before they checkout with their favorite toy. Each and every toy has been selected by advice from experts and will aide in development of children in various areas like fine motor skills, coarse motor skills, math, co-ordination, concentration, memory etc.
At Kids Kouch we encourage parents to spend time quality time with their children playing in our toy section, reading a good book or go through the reference books. They can even go through books of their interest or browse the internet. Though it is not compulsory for children to be accompanied by their parents, we recommend that an adult should be present with kids below 5 years of age.
Adult Library
We have an exclusive selection of books for adults. Parents of children who are members of Kids Kouch are free to browse through the books or the magazines. Parents who are members can also borrow books from this section. We have a collection of exotic cook books, books on health, yoga, parenting to name a few.
MAGAZINES
We have subscription to about 25 popular magazines. Parents who are members can check out all but the most current month’s issue.
All members of Kids Kouch are free to use the library facilities and resources as frequently as they wish within the working hours. Members of the book or toy library will be able to participate free of charge in all the bi-weekly events conducted at Kids Kouch.

Books only member
2-Book member
- Member can borrow maximum of 2 books excluding current issues magazines and reference books for a period of 20 Days (including day of borrowing). Maximum one book from the knowledge series can be borrowed.
5-Book member

Member can borrow maximum of 5 books excluding current issues of magazines and reference books for a period of 20 Days (including day of borrowing). Maximum two books from the knowledge series can be borrowed.
- Borrowed books can be extended for one more week by sending an email or by telephone (7 Days)only. Extension will not be provided for a reserved book.
Toys only member
- Member can borrow maximum of 1 toys for a period of 20 Days (including day of borrowing).
- Extension for toys borrowed is not permitted
Books+Toys member ( Combo)
- Member can choose any of the above book membership with the toy membership in this combo package.
- Borrowed books or toys can be extended for one more week by sending an email or by telephone ( 7 Days)only. Extension will not be provided for reserved books or toys.
Parent member
- Member can borrow maximum of one book from our Adult section and one Magazine (excludes current month issues) for a period of 20 days.
- Borrowed books books or magazines can be extended for one more week by sending an email or by telephone ( 7 Days)only.
- Extension will not be provided for reserved books or magazines.
Late fee of Rs 3 per day per book will be charged from the next day of the due date until the date of return.
